And we’re off!!!
The race has begun . . . this morning as we were getting ready for work, Ben crawled across the hallway. He was very precise in his direction while he executed his first crawl. But it was a huge reminder that we haven’t purchased enough gates yet. Of course when we got to school to show off, he hesitated and flopped down to his belly flipping his legs and arms like a fish out of water. Guess he’s not ready for Broadway yet since he won’t act on demand. However, before the morning was over, he had crawled to some blocks which he wanted. So, he showed off in his own timing.
This weekend I helped him learn how to climb the stairs. I know . . . everyone’s thinking I’m crazy for teaching my son to be more mobile because I’m just creating more work for myself. But I was helping him walk around the house on Saturday and we needed to go upstairs. So “Curious George mom” wanted to know what he would do at the stairs. He placed his right knee on the first step, then pushed off with his left foot, which he then placed up on the step. He continued this way up all 8 steps. (Guess it’s a combined effort of crawling and walking up the stairs.) Of course he held on to my hands the whole time!! By the end of the weekend, he had picked up the pace and was moving up the stairs at a steady pace.
Look out world . . . (or mom and dad) here I come!!!!!
